I have started a long-term project to observe and preserve the urban face and public character of the twenty-first century by combining the mode of street photography with the tradition of the flâneur. Cities are constantly in flux making it important to document what was and what is.
What I seek to frame is not merely a documentary recording of the city, but to also suggest the multiple meanings embedded in the world by the use of composition, juxtaposition, colour and looking beyond the obvious.
The current exhibition is a sampling of my current obsession with peering into shop windows and buildings as well as observing the people and the streets in which they are situated.
